A controlled-release system for motorcycle leg bags.

RipLok™ is SEVRA’s approach to reducing risk associated with traditional motorcycle leg bags. It is designed to address how a bag behaves under abnormal load — without affecting normal riding.

Why RipLok exists

Traditional leg bags are designed to stay attached under all conditions.

In a crash, that same attachment can increase the risk of injury by creating a fixed point of impact.

RipLok™ was developed to address that design limitation.

Designed to release under high load.

RipLok™ is a controlled-release system integrated into the leg bag’s rear strap arrangement.

It is engineered to detach when force exceeds normal use, reducing the likelihood of the bag remaining fixed during a crash.

The goal is simple:

retain stability during normal riding, release only when loads become abnormal.

What RipLok is not

To be clear, RipLok™ is not:

  • A quick-release buckle
  • Designed to detach during normal riding
  • Intended to reduce impact forces
  • A guarantee of injury prevention

It is a design approach aimed at reducing one specific risk associated with leg bag retention.

Designed specifically for SEVRA

RipLok™ is purpose-built for the SEVRA RipLok™ Leg Bag.

It is not an aftermarket add-on and is not intended for use with other products.

The system is designed as part of the bag — not added to it.

A considered approach to safety

RipLok™ is one part of the overall design.

Materials, construction, and everyday usability remain equally important.

The system exists to behave differently only when circumstances demand it.
